وَالصّٰٓفّٰتِ صَفًّاۙ‏

Wa Aş-Şāffāti Şaffāan

By those [angels] lined up in rows

فَالزّٰجِرٰتِ زَجۡرًاۙ‏

Fālzzājirāti Zajrāan

And those who drive [the clouds]

فَالتّٰلِيٰتِ ذِكۡرًاۙ‏

Fālttāliyāti Dhikrāan

And those who recite the message

اِنَّ اِلٰهَكُمۡ لَوَاحِدٌؕ‏

Inna 'Ilahakum Lawāĥidun

Indeed, your God is One

رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ الۡمَشَارِقِؕ‏

Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Wa Rabbu Al-Mashāriqi

Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises

اِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنۡيَا بِزِيۡنَةِ اِۨلۡكَوَاكِبِۙ‏

Innā Zayyannā As-Samā'a Ad-Dunyā Bizīnatin Al-Kawākib

Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars

وَحِفۡظًا مِّنۡ كُلِّ شَيۡطٰنٍ مَّارِدٍۚ‏

Wa Ĥifžāan Min Kulli Shayţānin Māridin

And as protection against every rebellious devil

لَا يَسَّمَّعُوۡنَ اِلَي الۡمَلَاِ الۡاَعۡلٰي وَيُقۡذَفُوۡنَ مِنۡ كُلِّ جَانِبٍࣗۙۖ‏

Lā Yassamma`ūna 'Ilá Al-Mala'i Al-'A`lá Wa Yuqdhafūna Min Kulli Jānibin

[So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side

دُحُوۡرًا وَّلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ وَّاصِبٌۙ‏

Duĥūrāan Wa Lahum `Adhābun Wa Aşibun

Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment

اِلَّا مَنۡ خَطِفَ الۡخَطۡفَةَ فَاَتۡبَعَهٗ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ

Illā Man Khaţifa Al-Khaţfata Fa'atba`ahu Shihābun Thāqibāun

Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]

فَاسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ اَهُمۡ اَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا اَمۡ مَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَاؕ اِنَّا خَلَقۡنٰهُمۡ مِّنۡ طِيۡنٍ لَّازِبٍ

Fāstaftihim 'Ahum 'Ashaddu Khalqāan 'Am Man Khalaqnā 'Innā Khalaqnāhum Min Ţīnin Lāzibin

Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay

بَلۡ عَجِبۡتَ وَيَسۡخَرُوۡنَࣕ‏

Bal `Ajibta Wa Yaskharūna

But you wonder, while they mock

وَاِذَا ذُكِّرُوۡا لَا يَذۡكُرُوۡنَࣕ‏

Wa 'Idhā Dhukkirū Lā Yadhkurūna

And when they are reminded, they remember not

وَاِذَا رَاَوۡا اٰيَةً يَّسۡتَسۡخِرُوۡنَࣕ‏

Wa 'Idhā Ra'aw 'Āyatan Yastaskhirūna

And when they see a sign, they ridicule

وَقَالُوۡ٘ا اِنۡ هٰذَا٘ اِلَّا سِحۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌۚۖ‏

Wa Qālū 'In Hādhā 'Illā Siĥrun Mubīnun

And say, "This is not but obvious magic

ءَاِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا ءَاِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوۡثُوۡنَۙ‏

A'idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Turābāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'innā Lamab`ūthūna

When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected

اَوَ اٰبَآؤُنَا الۡاَوَّلُوۡنَؕ‏

Awa'ābā'uunā Al-'Awwalūna

And our forefathers [as well]

قُلۡ نَعَمۡ وَاَنۡتُمۡ دَاخِرُوۡنَۚ‏

Qul Na`am Wa 'Antum Dākhirūna

Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible

فَاِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ فَاِذَا هُمۡ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ

Fa'innamā Hiya Zajratun Wāĥidatun Fa'idhā Hum Yanžurūna

It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing

وَقَالُوۡا يٰوَيۡلَنَا هٰذَا يَوۡمُ الدِّيۡنِ

Wa Qālū Yā Waylanā Hādhā Yawmu Ad-Dīni

They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِ الَّذِيۡ كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَࣖ‏

Hādhā Yawmu Al-Faşli Al-Ladhī Kuntum Bihi Tukadhibūna

[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny

اُحۡشُرُوا الَّذِيۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا وَاَزۡوَاجَهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡبُدُوۡنَۙ‏

Aĥshurū Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Wa 'Azwājahum Wa Mā Kānū Ya`budūna

[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship

مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ فَاهۡدُوۡهُمۡ اِلٰي صِرَاطِ الۡجَحِيۡمِࣔ‏

Min Dūni Allāhi Fāhdūhum 'Ilá Şirāţi Al-Jaĥīmi

Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire

وَقِفُوۡهُمۡ اِنَّهُمۡ مَّسۡـُٔوۡلُوۡنَۙ‏

Wa Qifūhum 'Innahum Mas'ūlūna

And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned

مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُوۡنَ

Mā Lakum Lā Tanāşarūna

[They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other

بَلۡ هُمُ الۡيَوۡمَ مُسۡتَسۡلِمُوۡنَ

Bal Humu Al-Yawma Mustaslimūna

But they, that Day, are in surrender

وَاَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلٰي بَعۡضٍ يَّتَسَآءَلُوۡنَ

Wa 'Aqbala Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Yatasā'alūna

And they will approach one another blaming each other

قَالُوۡ٘ا اِنَّكُمۡ كُنۡتُمۡ تَاۡتُوۡنَنَا عَنِ الۡيَمِيۡنِ

Qālū 'Innakum Kuntum Ta'tūnanā `Ani Al-Yamīni

They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right

قَالُوۡا بَلۡ لَّمۡ تَكُوۡنُوۡا مُؤۡمِنِيۡنَۚ‏

Qālū Bal Lam Takūnū Mu'uminīna

The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers

وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ سُلۡطٰنٍۚ بَلۡ كُنۡتُمۡ قَوۡمًا طٰغِيۡنَ

Wa Mā Kāna Lanā `Alaykum Min Sulţānin Bal Kuntum Qawmāan Ţāghīna

And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people

فَحَقَّ عَلَيۡنَا قَوۡلُ رَبِّنَا٘ࣗۖ اِنَّا لَذَآئِقُوۡنَ

Faĥaqqa `Alaynā Qawlu Rabbinā 'Innā Ladhā'iqūna

So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]

فَاَغۡوَيۡنٰكُمۡ اِنَّا كُنَّا غٰوِيۡنَ

Fa'aghwaynākum 'Innā Kunnā Ghāwīna

And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators

فَاِنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٍ فِي الۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُوۡنَ

Fa'innahum Yawma'idhin Fī Al-`Adhābi Mushtarikūna

So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِالۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ

Innā Kadhālika Naf`alu Bil-Mujrimīna

Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals

اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡ٘ا اِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ لَا٘ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُوۡنَۙ‏

Innahum Kānū 'Idhā Qīla Lahum Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Allāhu Yastakbirūna

Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant

وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ اَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوۡ٘ا اٰلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجۡنُوۡنٍؕ‏

Wa Yaqūlūna 'A'innā Latārikū 'Ālihatinā Lishā`irin Majnūnin

And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet

بَلۡ جَآءَ بِالۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَ

Bal Jā'a Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Şaddaqa Al-Mursalīna

Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers

اِنَّكُمۡ لَذَآئِقُوا الۡعَذَابِ الۡاَلِيۡمِۚ‏

Innakum Ladhā'iqū Al-`Adhābi Al-'Alīmi

Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment

وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ اِلَّا مَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَۙ‏

Wa Mā Tujzawna 'Illā Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna

And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do

اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ

Illā `Ibāda Allāhi Al-Mukhlaşīna

But not the chosen servants of Allah

اُولٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقٌ مَّعۡلُوۡمٌۙ‏

Ūlā'ika Lahum Rizqun Ma`lūmun

Those will have a provision determined

فَوَاكِهُۚ وَهُمۡ مُّكۡرَمُوۡنَۙ‏

Fawākihu Wa Hum Mukramūna

Fruits; and they will be honored

فِيۡ جَنّٰتِ النَّعِيۡمِۙ‏

Fī Jannāti An-Na`īmi

In gardens of pleasure

عَلٰي سُرُرٍ مُّتَقٰبِلِيۡنَ

Alá Sururin Mutaqābilīna

On thrones facing one another

يُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِكَاۡسٍ مِّنۡ مَّعِيۡنٍۭۙ‏

Yuţāfu `Alayhim Bika'sin Min Ma`īnin

There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring

بَيۡضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشّٰرِبِيۡنَۚ‏

Bayđā'a Ladhatin Lilshāribīna

White and delicious to the drinkers

لَا فِيۡهَا غَوۡلٌ وَّلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا يُنۡزَفُوۡنَ

Lā Fīhā Ghawlun Wa Lā Hum `Anhā Yunzafūna

No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated

وَعِنۡدَهُمۡ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرۡفِ عِيۡنٌۙ‏

Wa `Indahum Qāşirātu Aţ-Ţarfi `Īnun

And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes

كَاَنَّهُنَّ بَيۡضٌ مَّكۡنُوۡنٌ

Ka'annahunna Bayđun Maknūnun

As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected

فَاَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلٰي بَعۡضٍ يَّتَسَآءَلُوۡنَ

Fa'aqbala Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Yatasā'alūna

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other

قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ اِنِّيۡ كَانَ لِيۡ قَرِيۡنٌۙ‏

Qāla Qā'ilun Minhum 'Innī Kāna Lī Qarīnun

A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]

يَّقُوۡلُ ءَاِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الۡمُصَدِّقِيۡنَ

Yaqūlu 'A'innaka Lamina Al-Muşaddiqīna

Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe

ءَاِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّعِظَامًا ءَاِنَّا لَمَدِيۡنُوۡنَ

A'idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Turābāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'innā Lamadīnūna

That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed

قَالَ هَلۡ اَنۡتُمۡ مُّطَّلِعُوۡنَ

Qāla Hal 'Antum Muţţali`ūna

He will say, "Would you [care to] look

فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَاٰهُ فِيۡ سَوَآءِ الۡجَحِيۡمِ

Fāţţala`a Fara'āhu Fī Sawā'i Al-Jaĥīmi

And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire

قَالَ تَاللّٰهِ اِنۡ كِدۡتَّ لَتُرۡدِيۡنِۙ‏

Qāla Ta-Allāhi 'In Kidta Laturdīni

He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me

وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّيۡ لَكُنۡتُ مِنَ الۡمُحۡضَرِيۡنَ

Wa Lawlā Ni`matu Rabbī Lakuntu Mina Al-Muĥđarīna

If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]

اَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِيۡنَۙ‏

Afamā Naĥnu Bimayyitīna

Then, are we not to die

اِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا الۡاُوۡلٰي وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِيۡنَ

Illā Mawtatanā Al-'Ūlá Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimu`adhabīna

Except for our first death, and we will not be punished

اِنَّ هٰذَا لَهُوَ الۡفَوۡزُ الۡعَظِيۡمُ

Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu

Indeed, this is the great attainment

لِمِثۡلِ هٰذَا فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ الۡعٰمِلُوۡنَ

Limithli Hādhā Falya`mali Al-`Āmilūna

For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work

اَذٰلِكَ خَيۡرٌ نُّزُلًا اَمۡ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّوۡمِ

Adhalika Khayrun Nuzulāan 'Am Shajaratu Az-Zaqqūmi

Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum

اِنَّا جَعَلۡنٰهَا فِتۡنَةً لِّلظّٰلِمِيۡنَ

Innā Ja`alnāhā Fitnatan Lilžžālimīna

Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers

اِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخۡرُجُ فِيۡ٘ اَصۡلِ الۡجَحِيۡمِۙ‏

Innahā Shajaratun Takhruju Fī 'Aşli Al-Jaĥīmi

Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire

طَلۡعُهَا كَاَنَّهٗ رُءُوۡسُ الشَّيٰطِيۡنِ

Ţal`uhā Ka'annahu Ru'ūsu Ash-Shayāţīni

Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils

فَاِنَّهُمۡ لَاٰكِلُوۡنَ مِنۡهَا فَمَالِـُٔوۡنَ مِنۡهَا الۡبُطُوۡنَؕ‏

Fa'innahum La'ākilūna Minhā Famāli'ūna Minhā Al-Buţūna

And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies

ثُمَّ اِنَّ لَهُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا لَشَوۡبًا مِّنۡ حَمِيۡمٍۚ‏

Thumma 'Inna Lahum `Alayhā Lashawbāan Min Ĥamīmin

Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water

ثُمَّ اِنَّ مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ لَا۠اِلَي الۡجَحِيۡمِ

Thumma 'Inna Marji`ahum La'ilá Al-Jaĥīmi

Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire

اِنَّهُمۡ اَلۡفَوۡا اٰبَآءَهُمۡ ضَآلِّيۡنَۙ‏

Innahum 'Alfaw 'Ābā'ahum Đāllīna

Indeed they found their fathers astray

فَهُمۡ عَلٰ٘ي اٰثٰرِهِمۡ يُهۡرَعُوۡنَ

Fahum `Alá 'Āthārihim Yuhra`ūna

So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps

وَلَقَدۡ ضَلَّ قَبۡلَهُمۡ اَكۡثَرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَۙ‏

Wa Laqad Đalla Qablahum 'Aktharu Al-'Awwalīna

And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples

وَلَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيۡهِمۡ مُّنۡذِرِيۡنَ

Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Fīhim Mundhirīna

And We had already sent among them warners

فَانۡظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الۡمُنۡذَرِيۡنَۙ‏

Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mundharīna

Then look how was the end of those who were warned

اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَࣖ‏

Illā `Ibāda Allāhi Al-Mukhlaşīna

But not the chosen servants of Allah

وَلَقَدۡ نَادٰىنَا نُوۡحٌ فَلَنِعۡمَ الۡمُجِيۡبُوۡنَؗۖ‏

Wa Laqad Nādānā Nūĥun Falani`ma Al-Mujībūna

And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders

وَنَجَّيۡنٰهُ وَاَهۡلَهٗ مِنَ الۡكَرۡبِ الۡعَظِيۡمِؗۖ‏

Wa Najjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu Mina Al-Karbi Al-`Ažīmi

And We saved him and his family from the great affliction

وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهٗ هُمُ الۡبَاقِيۡنَؗۖ‏

Wa Ja`alnā Dhurrīyatahu Humu Al-Bāqīna

And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَؗۖ‏

Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī Al-'Ākhirīna

And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلٰمٌ عَلٰي نُوۡحٍ فِي الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ

Salāmun `Alá Nūĥin Fī Al-`Ālamīna

Peace upon Noah among the worlds

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

اِنَّهٗ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

ثُمَّ اَغۡرَقۡنَا الۡاٰخَرِيۡنَ

Thumma 'Aghraqnā Al-'Ākharīna

Then We drowned the disbelievers

وَاِنَّ مِنۡ شِيۡعَتِهٖ لَاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَۘ‏

Wa 'Inna Min Shī`atihi La'ibrāhīma

And indeed, among his kind was Abraham

اِذۡ جَآءَ رَبَّهٗ بِقَلۡبٍ سَلِيۡمٍ

Idh Jā'a Rabbahu Biqalbin Salīmin

When he came to his Lord with a sound heart

اِذۡ قَالَ لِاَبِيۡهِ وَقَوۡمِهٖ مَاذَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَۚ‏

Idh Qāla Li'abīhi Wa Qawmihi Mādhā Ta`budūna

[And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship

اَئِفۡكًا اٰلِهَةً دُوۡنَ اللّٰهِ تُرِيۡدُوۡنَؕ‏

A'ifkāan 'Ālihatan Dūna Allāhi Turīdūna

Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire

فَمَا ظَنُّكُمۡ بِرَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ

Famā Žannukum Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna

Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds

فَنَظَرَ نَظۡرَةً فِي النُّجُوۡمِۙ‏

Fanažara Nažratan Fī An-Nujūmi

And he cast a look at the stars

فَقَالَ اِنِّيۡ سَقِيۡمٌ

Faqāla 'Innī Saqīmun

And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill

فَتَوَلَّوۡا عَنۡهُ مُدۡبِرِيۡنَ

Fatawallaw `Anhu Mudbirīna

So they turned away from him, departing

فَرَاغَ اِلٰ٘ي اٰلِهَتِهِمۡ فَقَالَ اَلَا تَاۡكُلُوۡنَۚ‏

Farāgha 'Ilá 'Ālihatihim Faqāla 'Alā Ta'kulūna

Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat

مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنۡطِقُوۡنَ

Mā Lakum Lā Tanţiqūna

What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak

فَرَاغَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ضَرۡبًاۭ بِالۡيَمِيۡنِ

Farāgha `Alayhim Đarbāan Bil-Yamīni

And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand

فَاَقۡبَلُوۡ٘ا اِلَيۡهِ يَزِفُّوۡنَ

Fa'aqbalū 'Ilayhi Yaziffūna

Then the people came toward him, hastening

قَالَ اَتَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مَا تَنۡحِتُوۡنَۙ‏

Qāla 'Ata`budūna Mā Tanĥitūna

He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve

وَاللّٰهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

Wa Allāhu Khalaqakum Wa Mā Ta`malūna

While Allah created you and that which you do

قَالُوا ابۡنُوۡا لَهٗ بُنۡيَانًا فَاَلۡقُوۡهُ فِي الۡجَحِيۡمِ

Qālū Abnū Lahu Bunyānāan Fa'alqūhu Fī Al-Jaĥīmi

They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire

فَاَرَادُوۡا بِهٖ كَيۡدًا فَجَعَلۡنٰهُمُ الۡاَسۡفَلِيۡنَ

Fa'arādū Bihi Kaydāan Faja`alnāhumu Al-'Asfalīna

And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased

وَقَالَ اِنِّيۡ ذَاهِبٌ اِلٰي رَبِّيۡ سَيَهۡدِيۡنِ

Wa Qāla 'Innī Dhāhibun 'Ilá Rabbī Sayahdīni

And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me

رَبِّ هَبۡ لِيۡ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ

Rabbi Hab Lī Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna

My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous

فَبَشَّرۡنٰهُ بِغُلٰمٍ حَلِيۡمٍ

Fabasharnāhu Bighulāmin Ĥalīmin

So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعۡيَ قَالَ يٰبُنَيَّ اِنِّيۡ٘ اَرٰي فِي الۡمَنَامِ اَنِّيۡ٘ اَذۡبَحُكَ فَانۡظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرٰيؕ قَالَ يٰ٘اَبَتِ افۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُؗ سَتَجِدُنِيۡ٘ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَ

Falammā Balagha Ma`ahu As-Sa`ya Qāla Yā Bunayya 'Innī 'Ará Fī Al-Manāmi 'Annī 'Adhbaĥuka Fānžur Mādhā Tará Qāla Yā 'Abati Af`al Mā Tu'umaru Satajidunī 'In Shā'a Allāhu Mina Aş-Şābirīna

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast

فَلَمَّا٘ اَسۡلَمَا وَتَلَّهٗ لِلۡجَبِيۡنِۚ‏

Falammā 'Aslamā Wa Tallahu Liljabīni

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead

وَنَادَيۡنٰهُ اَنۡ يّٰ٘اِبۡرٰهِيۡمُۙ‏

Wa Nādaynāhu 'An Yā 'Ibrāhīmu

We called to him, "O Abraham

قَدۡ صَدَّقۡتَ الرُّءۡيَاۚ اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Qad Şaddaqta Ar-Ru'uyā 'Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna

You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

اِنَّ هٰذَا لَهُوَ الۡبَلٰٓؤُا الۡمُبِيۡنُ

Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Balā'u Al-Mubīnu

Indeed, this was the clear trial

وَفَدَيۡنٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِيۡمٍ

Wa Fadaynāhu Bidhibĥin `Ažīmin

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَؗ‏

Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī Al-'Ākhirīna

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلٰمٌ عَلٰ٘ي اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ

Salāmun `Alá 'Ibrāhīma

Peace upon Abraham

كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

اِنَّهٗ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

وَبَشَّرۡنٰهُ بِاِسۡحٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ

Wa Basharnāhu Bi'isĥāqa Nabīyāan Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna

And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous

وَبٰرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ وَعَلٰ٘ي اِسۡحٰقَؕ وَمِنۡ ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحۡسِنٌ وَّظَالِمٌ لِّنَفۡسِهٖ مُبِيۡنٌࣖ‏

Wa Bāraknā `Alayhi Wa `Alá 'Isĥāqa Wa Min Dhurrīyatihimā Muĥsinun Wa Žālimun Linafsihi Mubīnun

And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself

وَلَقَدۡ مَنَنَّا عَلٰي مُوۡسٰي وَهٰرُوۡنَۚ‏

Wa Laqad Manannā `Alá Mūsá Wa Hārūna

And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron

وَنَجَّيۡنٰهُمَا وَقَوۡمَهُمَا مِنَ الۡكَرۡبِ الۡعَظِيۡمِۚ‏

Wa Najjaynāhumā Wa Qawmahumā Mina Al-Karbi Al-`Ažīmi

And We saved them and their people from the great affliction

وَنَصَرۡنٰهُمۡ فَكَانُوۡا هُمُ الۡغٰلِبِيۡنَۚ‏

Wa Naşarnāhum Fakānū Humu Al-Ghālibīna

And We supported them so it was they who overcame

وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُمَا الۡكِتٰبَ الۡمُسۡتَبِيۡنَۚ‏

Wa 'Ātaynāhumā Al-Kitāba Al-Mustabīna

And We gave them the explicit Scripture

وَهَدَيۡنٰهُمَا الصِّرَاطَ الۡمُسۡتَقِيۡمَۚ‏

Wa Hadaynāhumā Aş-Şirāţa Al-Mustaqīma

And We guided them on the straight path

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمَا فِي الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَۙۖ‏

Wa Taraknā `Alayhimā Fī Al-'Ākhirīna

And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلٰمٌ عَلٰي مُوۡسٰي وَهٰرُوۡنَ

Salāmun `Alá Mūsá Wa Hārūna

Peace upon Moses and Aaron

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

اِنَّهُمَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

Innahumā Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna

Indeed, they were of Our believing servants

وَاِنَّ اِلۡيَاسَ لَمِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَؕ‏

Wa 'Inna 'Ilyāsa Lamina Al-Mursalīna

And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers

اِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهٖ٘ اَلَا تَتَّقُوۡنَ

Idh Qāla Liqawmihi 'Alā Tattaqūna

When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah

اَتَدۡعُوۡنَ بَعۡلًا وَّتَذَرُوۡنَ اَحۡسَنَ الۡخٰلِقِيۡنَۙ‏

Atad`ūna Ba`lāan Wa Tadharūna 'Aĥsana Al-Khāliqīna

Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators

اللّٰهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ اٰبَآئِكُمُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ

Allāha Rabbakum Wa Rabba 'Ābā'ikumu Al-'Awwalīna

Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers

فَكَذَّبُوۡهُ فَاِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُوۡنَۙ‏

Fakadhabūhu Fa'innahum Lamuĥđarūna

And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment]

اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ

Illā `Ibāda Allāhi Al-Mukhlaşīna

Except the chosen servants of Allah

وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ فِي الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَۙ‏

Wa Taraknā `Alayhi Fī Al-'Ākhirīna

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلٰمٌ عَلٰ٘ي اِلۡ يَاسِيۡنَ

Salāmun `Alá 'Il Yā -Sīn

Peace upon Elias

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinīna

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

اِنَّهٗ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ

Innahu Min `Ibādinā Al-Mu'uminīna

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

وَاِنَّ لُوۡطًا لَّمِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَؕ‏

Wa 'Inna Lūţāan Lamina Al-Mursalīna

And indeed, Lot was among the messengers

اِذۡ نَجَّيۡنٰهُ وَاَهۡلَهٗ٘ اَجۡمَعِيۡنَۙ‏

Idh Najjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu 'Ajma`īna

[So mention] when We saved him and his family, all

اِلَّا عَجُوۡزًا فِي الۡغٰبِرِيۡنَ

Illā `Ajūzāan Fī Al-Ghābirīna

Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]

ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا الۡاٰخَرِيۡنَ

Thumma Dammarnā Al-'Ākharīna

Then We destroyed the others

وَاِنَّكُمۡ لَتَمُرُّوۡنَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مُّصۡبِحِيۡنَۙ‏

Wa 'Innakum Latamurrūna `Alayhim Muşbiĥīna

And indeed, you pass by them in the morning

وَبِالَّيۡلِؕ اَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُوۡنَࣖ‏

Wa Bil-Layli 'Afalā Ta`qilūna

And at night. Then will you not use reason

وَاِنَّ يُوۡنُسَ لَمِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَؕ‏

Wa 'Inna Yūnis Lamina Al-Mursalīna

And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers

اِذۡ اَبَقَ اِلَي الۡفُلۡكِ الۡمَشۡحُوۡنِۙ‏

Idh 'Abaqa 'Ilá Al-Fulki Al-Mashĥūni

[Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship

فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الۡمُدۡحَضِيۡنَۚ‏

Fasāhama Fakāna Mina Al-Mudĥađīna

And he drew lots and was among the losers

فَالۡتَقَمَهُ الۡحُوۡتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيۡمٌ

Fāltaqamahu Al-Ĥūtu Wa Huwa Mulīmun

Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy

فَلَوۡلَا٘ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الۡمُسَبِّحِيۡنَۙ‏

Falawlā 'Annahu Kāna Mina Al-Musabbiĥīna

And had he not been of those who exalt Allah

لَلَبِثَ فِيۡ بَطۡنِهٖ٘ اِلٰي يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُوۡنَۚ‏

Lalabitha Fī Baţnihi 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna

He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected

فَنَبَذۡنٰهُ بِالۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيۡمٌۚ‏

Fanabadhnāhu Bil-`Arā'i Wa Huwa Saqīmun

But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill

وَاَنۭۡ بَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةً مِّنۡ يَّقۡطِيۡنٍۚ‏

Wa 'Anbatnā `Alayhi Shajaratan Min Yaqţīnin

And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine

وَاَرۡسَلۡنٰهُ اِلٰي مِائَةِ اَلۡفٍ اَوۡ يَزِيۡدُوۡنَۚ‏

Wa 'Arsalnāhu 'Ilá Miā'ati 'Alfin 'Aw Yazīdūna

And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more

فَاٰمَنُوۡا فَمَتَّعۡنٰهُمۡ اِلٰي حِيۡنٍؕ‏

Fa'āmanū Famatta`nāhum 'Ilá Ĥīnin

And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time

فَاسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ اَلِرَبِّكَ الۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ الۡبَنُوۡنَۙ‏

Fāstaftihim 'Alirabbika Al-Banātu Wa Lahumu Al-Banūna

So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons

اَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡمَلٰٓئِكَةَ اِنَاثًا وَّهُمۡ شٰهِدُوۡنَ

Am Khalaqnā Al-Malā'ikata 'Ināthāan Wa Hum Shāhidūna

Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses

اَلَا٘ اِنَّهُمۡ مِّنۡ اِفۡكِهِمۡ لَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَۙ‏

Alā 'Innahum Min 'Ifkihim Layaqūlūna

Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say

وَلَدَ اللّٰهُۙ وَاِنَّهُمۡ لَكٰذِبُوۡنَ

Walada Allāhu Wa 'Innahum Lakādhibūna

Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars

اَصۡطَفَي الۡبَنَاتِ عَلَي الۡبَنِيۡنَؕ‏

Āşţafá Al-Banāti `Alá Al-Banīna

Has He chosen daughters over sons

مَا لَكُمۡࣞ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُوۡنَ

Mā Lakum Kayfa Taĥkumūna

What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement

اَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُوۡنَۚ‏

Afalā Tadhakkarūn

Then will you not be reminded

اَمۡ لَكُمۡ سُلۡطٰنٌ مُّبِيۡنٌۙ‏

Am Lakum Sulţānun Mubīnun

Or do you have a clear authority

فَاۡتُوۡا بِكِتٰبِكُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ

Fa'tū Bikitābikum 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna

Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful

وَجَعَلُوۡا بَيۡنَهٗ وَبَيۡنَ الۡجِنَّةِ نَسَبًاؕ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمَتِ الۡجِنَّةُ اِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُوۡنَۙ‏

Wa Ja`alū Baynahu Wa Bayna Al-Jinnati Nasabāan Wa Laqad `Alimati Al-Jinnatu 'Innahum Lamuĥđarūna

And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]

سُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوۡنَۙ‏

Subĥāna Allāhi `Ammā Yaşifūna

Exalted is Allah above what they describe

اِلَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ

Illā `Ibāda Allāhi Al-Mukhlaşīna

Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]

فَاِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَۙ‏

Fa'innakum Wa Mā Ta`budūna

So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship

مَا٘ اَنۡتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ بِفٰتِنِيۡنَۙ‏

Mā 'Antum `Alayhi Bifātinīna

You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him

اِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ الۡجَحِيۡمِ

Illā Man Huwa Şālī Al-Jaĥīmi

Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire

وَمَا مِنَّا٘ اِلَّا لَهٗ مَقَامٌ مَّعۡلُوۡمٌۙ‏

Wa Mā Minnā 'Illā Lahu Maqāmun Ma`lūmun

[The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position

وَّاِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ الصَّآفُّوۡنَۚ‏

Wa 'Innā Lanaĥnu Aş-Şāffūna

And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]

وَاِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ الۡمُسَبِّحُوۡنَ

Wa 'Innā Lanaĥnu Al-Musabbiĥūna

And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah

وَاِنۡ كَانُوۡا لَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَۙ‏

Wa 'In Kānū Layaqūlūna

And indeed, the disbelievers used to say

لَوۡ اَنَّ عِنۡدَنَا ذِكۡرًا مِّنَ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَۙ‏

Law 'Anna `Indanā Dhikrāan Mina Al-'Awwalīna

If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples

لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ

Lakunnā `Ibāda Allāhi Al-Mukhlaşīna

We would have been the chosen servants of Allah

فَكَفَرُوۡا بِهٖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Fakafarū Bihi Fasawfa Ya`lamūna

But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know

وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَۚۖ‏

Wa Laqad Sabaqat Kalimatunā Li`ibādinā Al-Mursalīn

And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers

اِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ الۡمَنۡصُوۡرُوۡنَࣕ‏

Innahum Lahumu Al-Manşūrūna

[That] indeed, they would be those given victory

وَاِنَّ جُنۡدَنَا لَهُمُ الۡغٰلِبُوۡنَ

Wa 'Inna Jundanā Lahumu Al-Ghālibūna

And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتّٰي حِيۡنٍۙ‏

Fatawalla `Anhum Ĥattá Ĥīnin

So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time

وَّاَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُوۡنَ

Wa 'Abşirhum Fasawfa Yubşirūna

And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see

اَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ

Afabi`adhābinā Yasta`jilūna

Then for Our punishment are they impatient

فَاِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ الۡمُنۡذَرِيۡنَ

Fa'idhā Nazala Bisāĥatihim Fasā'a Şabāĥu Al-Mundharīna

But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned

وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتّٰي حِيۡنٍۙ‏

Wa Tawalla `Anhum Ĥattá Ĥīnin

And leave them for a time

وَّاَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُوۡنَ

Wa 'Abşir Fasawfa Yubşirūna

And see, for they are going to see

سُبۡحٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوۡنَۚ‏

Subĥāna Rabbika Rabbi Al-`Izzati `Ammā Yaşifūna

Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe

وَسَلٰمٌ عَلَي الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَۚ‏

Wa Salāmun `Alá Al-Mursalīna

And peace upon the messengers

وَالۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَࣖ‏

Wa Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna

And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds
