١

وَالنّٰزِعٰتِ غَرۡقًاۙ‏

Wa An-Nāzi`āti Gharqāan

By those [angels] who extract with violence

٢

وَّالنّٰشِطٰتِ نَشۡطًاۙ‏

Wa An-Nāshiţāti Nashţāan

And [by] those who remove with ease

٣

وَّالسّٰبِحٰتِ سَبۡحًاۙ‏

Wa As-Sābiĥāti Sabĥāan

And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming

٤

فَالسّٰبِقٰتِ سَبۡقًاۙ‏

Fālssābiqāti Sabqāan

And those who race each other in a race

٥

فَالۡمُدَبِّرٰتِ اَمۡرًاۘ‏

Fālmudabbirāti 'Amrāan

And those who arrange [each] matter

٦

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُۙ‏

Yawma Tarjufu Ar-Rājifahu

On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation]

٧

تَتۡبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُؕ‏

Tatba`uhā Ar-Rādifahu

There will follow it the subsequent [one]

٨

قُلُوۡبٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ وَّاجِفَةٌۙ‏

Qulūbun Yawma'idhin Wājifahun

Hearts, that Day, will tremble

٩

اَبۡصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌۘ‏

Abşāruhā Khāshi`ahun

Their eyes humbled

١٠

يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ ءَاِنَّا لَمَرۡدُوۡدُوۡنَ فِي الۡحَافِرَةِؕ‏

Yaqūlūna 'A'innā Lamardūdūna Fī Al-Ĥāfirahi

They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]

١١

ءَاِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَّخِرَةًؕ‏

A'idhā Kunnā `Ižāmāan Nakhirahan

Even if we should be decayed bones

١٢

قَالُوۡا تِلۡكَ اِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۘ‏

Qālū Tilka 'Idhāan Karratun Khāsirahun

They say, "That, then, would be a losing return

١٣

فَاِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌۙ‏

Fa'innamā Hiya Zajratun Wāĥidahun

Indeed, it will be but one shout

١٤

فَاِذَا هُمۡ بِالسَّاهِرَةِؕ‏

Fa'idhā Hum Bis-Sāhirahi

And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface

١٥

هَلۡ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيۡثُ مُوۡسٰيۘ‏

Hal 'Tāka Ĥadīthu Mūsá

Has there reached you the story of Moses

١٦

اِذۡ نَادٰىهُ رَبُّهٗ بِالۡوَادِ الۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًيۚ‏

Idh Nādāhu Rabbuhu Bil-Wādi Al-Muqaddasi Ţūáan

When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa

١٧

اِذۡهَبۡ اِلٰي فِرۡعَوۡنَ اِنَّهٗ طَغٰيؗۖ‏

Adh/hab 'Ilá Fir`awna 'Innahu Ţaghá

Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed

١٨

فَقُلۡ هَلۡ لَّكَ اِلٰ٘ي اَنۡ تَزَكّٰيۙ‏

Faqul Hal Laka 'Ilá 'An Tazakká

And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself

١٩

وَاَهۡدِيَكَ اِلٰي رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشٰيۚ‏

Wa 'Ahdiyaka 'Ilá Rabbika Fatakhshá

And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]

٢٠

فَاَرٰىهُ الۡاٰيَةَ الۡكُبۡرٰيؗۖ‏

Fa'arāhu Al-'Āyata Al-Kubrá

And he showed him the greatest sign

٢١

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصٰيؗۖ‏

Fakadhaba Wa `Aşá

But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed

٢٢

ثُمَّ اَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعٰيؗۖ‏

Thumma 'Adbara Yas`á

Then he turned his back, striving

٢٣

فَحَشَرَࣞ فَنَادٰيؗۖ‏

Faĥashara Fanādá

And he gathered [his people] and called out

٢٤

فَقَالَ اَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الۡاَعۡلٰيؗۖ‏

Faqāla 'Anā Rabbukumu Al-'A`lá

And said, "I am your most exalted lord

٢٥

فَاَخَذَهُ اللّٰهُ نَكَالَ الۡاٰخِرَةِ وَالۡاُوۡلٰيؕ‏

Fa'akhadhahu Allāhu Nakāla Al-'Ākhirati Wa Al-'Ūlá

So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]

٢٦

اِنَّ فِيۡ ذٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةً لِّمَنۡ يَّخۡشٰيؕࣖ‏

Inna Fī Dhālika La`ibratan Liman Yakhshá

Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]

٢٧

ءَاَنۡتُمۡ اَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا اَمِ السَّمَآءُؕ بَنٰىهَاࣞ‏

A'antum 'Ashaddu Khalqāan 'Ami As-Samā'u Banāhā

Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it

٢٨

رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوّٰىهَاۙ‏

Rafa`a Samkahā Fasawwāhā

He raised its ceiling and proportioned it

٢٩

وَاَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَاَخۡرَجَ ضُحٰىهَاࣕ‏

Wa 'Aghţasha Laylahā Wa 'Akhraja Đuĥāhā

And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness

٣٠

وَالۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِكَ دَحٰىهَاؕ‏

Wa Al-'Arđa Ba`da Dhālika Daĥāhā

And after that He spread the earth

٣١

اَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعٰىهَاࣕ‏

Akhraja Minhā Mā'ahā Wa Mar`āhā

He extracted from it its water and its pasture

٣٢

وَالۡجِبَالَ اَرۡسٰىهَاۙ‏

Wa Al-Jibāla 'Arsāhā

And the mountains He set firmly

٣٣

مَتَاعًا لَّكُمۡ وَ لِاَنۡعَامِكُمۡؕ‏

Matā`āan Lakum Wa Li'an`āmikum

As provision for you and your grazing livestock

٣٤

فَاِذَا جَآءَتِ الطَّآمَّةُ الۡكُبۡرٰيؗۖ‏

Fa'idhā Jā'ati Aţ-Ţāmmatu Al-Kubrá

But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity

٣٥

يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الۡاِنۡسَانُ مَا سَعٰيۙ‏

Yawma Yatadhakkaru Al-'Insānu Mā Sa`á

The Day when man will remember that for which he strove

٣٦

وَبُرِّزَتِ الۡجَحِيۡمُ لِمَنۡ يَّرٰي

Wa Burrizati Al-Jaĥīmu Liman Yará

And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see

٣٧

فَاَمَّا مَنۡ طَغٰيۙ‏

Fa'ammā Man Ţaghá

So as for he who transgressed

٣٨

وَاٰثَرَ الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَاۙ‏

Wa 'Āthara Al-Ĥayāata Ad-Dunyā

And preferred the life of the world

٣٩

فَاِنَّ الۡجَحِيۡمَ هِيَ الۡمَاۡوٰيؕ‏

Fa'inna Al-Jaĥīma Hiya Al-Ma'wá

Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge

٤٠

وَاَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهٖ وَنَهَي النَّفۡسَ عَنِ الۡهَوٰيۙ‏

Wa 'Ammā Man Khāfa Maqāma Rabbihi Wa Nahá An-Nafsa `Ani Al-Hawá

But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination

٤١

فَاِنَّ الۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ الۡمَاۡوٰيؕ‏

Fa'inna Al-Jannata Hiya Al-Ma'wá

Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge

٤٢

يَسۡـَٔلُوۡنَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ اَيَّانَ مُرۡسٰىهَاؕ‏

Yas'alūnaka `Ani As-Sā`ati 'Ayyāna Mursāhā

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival

٤٣

فِيۡمَ اَنۡتَ مِنۡ ذِكۡرٰىهَاؕ‏

Fīma 'Anta Min Dhikrāhā

In what [position] are you that you should mention it

٤٤

اِلٰي رَبِّكَ مُنۡتَهٰىهَاؕ‏

Ilá Rabbika Muntahāhā

To your Lord is its finality

٤٥

اِنَّمَا٘ اَنۡتَ مُنۡذِرُ مَنۡ يَّخۡشٰىهَاؕ‏

Innamā 'Anta Mundhiru Man Yakhshāhā

You are only a warner for those who fear it

٤٦

كَاَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوۡ٘ا اِلَّا عَشِيَّةً اَوۡ ضُحٰىهَاࣖ‏

Ka'annahum Yawma Yarawnahā Lam Yalbathū 'Illā `Ashīyatan 'Aw Đuĥāhā

It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof

صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-ʿaẓīm

Allah, the Magnificent, has spoken the truth.
