وَالۡمُرۡسَلٰتِ عُرۡفًاۙ‏

Wa Al-Mursalāti `Urfāan

By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

فَالۡعٰصِفٰتِ عَصۡفًاۙ‏

Fāl`āşifāti `Aşfāan

And the winds that blow violently

وَّالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشۡرًاۙ‏

Wa An-Nāshirāti Nashrāan

And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]

فَالۡفٰرِقٰتِ فَرۡقًاۙ‏

Fālfāriqāti Farqāan

And those [angels] who bring criterion

فَالۡمُلۡقِيٰتِ ذِكۡرًاۙ‏

Fālmulqiyāti Dhikrāan

And those [angels] who deliver a message

عُذۡرًا اَوۡ نُذۡرًاۙ‏

Udhrāan 'Aw Nudhrāan

As justification or warning

اِنَّمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لَوَاقِعٌؕ‏

Innamā Tū`adūna Lawāqi`un

Indeed, what you are promised is to occur

فَاِذَا النُّجُوۡمُ طُمِسَتۡۙ‏

Fa'idhā An-Nujūmu Ţumisat

So when the stars are obliterated

وَاِذَا السَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡۙ‏

Wa 'Idhā As-Samā'u Furijat

And when the heaven is opened

وَاِذَا الۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡۙ‏

Wa 'Idhā Al-Jibālu Nusifat

And when the mountains are blown away

وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتۡؕ‏

Wa 'Idhā Ar-Rusulu 'Uqqitat

And when the messengers' time has come

لِاَيِّ يَوۡمٍ اُجِّلَتۡؕ‏

L'ayyi Yawmin 'Ujjilat

For what Day was it postponed

لِيَوۡمِ الۡفَصۡلِۚ‏

Liyawmi Al-Faşli

For the Day of Judgement

وَمَا٘ اَدۡرٰىكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِؕ‏

Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Yawmu Al-Faşli

And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

اَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَؕ‏

Alam Nuhliki Al-'Awwalīna

Did We not destroy the former peoples

ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَ

Thumma Nutbi`uhumu Al-'Ākhirīna

Then We will follow them with the later ones

كَذٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِالۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ

Kadhālika Naf`alu Bil-Mujrimīna

Thus do We deal with the criminals

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

اَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقۡكُّمۡ مِّنۡ مَّآءٍ مَّهِيۡنٍۙ‏

Alam Nakhluqkum Min Mā'in Mahīnin

Did We not create you from a liquid disdained

فَجَعَلۡنٰهُ فِيۡ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيۡنٍۙ‏

Faja`alnāhu Fī Qarārin Makīnin

And We placed it in a firm lodging

اِلٰي قَدَرٍ مَّعۡلُوۡمٍۙ‏

Ilá Qadarin Ma`lūmin

For a known extent

فَقَدَرۡنَاࣗۖ فَنِعۡمَ الۡقٰدِرُوۡنَ

Faqadarnā Fani`ma Al-Qādirūna

And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ الۡاَرۡضَ كِفَاتًاۙ‏

Alam Naj`ali Al-'Arđa Kifātāan

Have We not made the earth a container

اَحۡيَآءً وَّاَمۡوَاتًاۙ‏

Aĥyā'an Wa 'Amwātāan

Of the living and the dead

وَّجَعَلۡنَا فِيۡهَا رَوَاسِيَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَّاَسۡقَيۡنٰكُمۡ مَّآءً فُرَاتًاؕ‏

Wa Ja`alnā Fīhā Rawāsiya Shāmikhātin Wa 'Asqaynākum Mā'an Furātāan

And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

اِنۡطَلِقُوۡ٘ا اِلٰي مَا كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَۚ‏

Anţaliqū 'Ilá Mā Kuntum Bihi Tukadhibūna

[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny

اِنۡطَلِقُوۡ٘ا اِلٰي ظِلٍّ ذِيۡ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍۙ‏

Anţaliqū 'Ilá Žillin Dhī Thalāthi Shu`abin

Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns

لَّا ظَلِيۡلٍ وَّلَا يُغۡنِيۡ مِنَ اللَّهَبِؕ‏

Lā Žalīlin Wa Lā Yughnī Mina Al-Lahabi

[But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame

اِنَّهَا تَرۡمِيۡ بِشَرَرٍ كَالۡقَصۡرِۚ‏

Innahā Tarmī Bishararin Kālqaşri

Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress

كَاَنَّهٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفۡرٌؕ‏

Ka'annahu Jimālatun Şufrun

As if they were yellowish [black] camels

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنۡطِقُوۡنَۙ‏

Hādhā Yawmu Lā Yanţiqūna

This is a Day they will not speak

وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَعۡتَذِرُوۡنَ

Wa Lā Yu'udhanu Lahum Faya`tadhirūna

Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِۚ جَمَعۡنٰكُمۡ وَالۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ

Hādhā Yawmu Al-Faşli Jama`nākum Wa Al-'Awwalīna

This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples

فَاِنۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡدٌ فَكِيۡدُوۡنِ

Fa'in Kāna Lakum Kaydun Fakīdūni

So if you have a plan, then plan against Me

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَࣖ‏

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ فِيۡ ظِلٰلٍ وَّعُيُوۡنٍۙ‏

Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Žilālin Wa `Uyūnin

Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

وَّفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُوۡنَؕ‏

Wa Fawākiha Mimmā Yashtahūna

And fruits from whatever they desire

كُلُوۡا وَاشۡرَبُوۡا هَنِيۡٓـًٔاۭ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

Kulū Wa Ashrabū Hanī'āan Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna

[Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

Innā Kadhālika Najzī Al-Muĥsinyna

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

كُلُوۡا وَتَمَتَّعُوۡا قَلِيۡلًا اِنَّكُمۡ مُّجۡرِمُوۡنَ

Kulū Wa Tamatta`ū Qalīlāan 'Innakum Mujrimūna

[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمُ ارۡكَعُوۡا لَا يَرۡكَعُوۡنَ

Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahumu Arka`ū Lā Yarka`ūna

And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ

Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhibīna

Woe, that Day, to the deniers

فَبِاَيِّ حَدِيۡثٍۭ بَعۡدَهٗ يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَࣖ‏

Fabi'ayyi Ĥadīthin Ba`dahu Yu'uminūna

Then in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe
