هَلۡ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيۡثُ الۡغَاشِيَةِؕ‏

Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Al-Ghāshiyahi

Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]

وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌۙ‏

Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Khāshi`ahun

[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled

عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌۙ‏

Āmilatun Nāşibahun

Working [hard] and exhausted

تَصۡلٰي نَارًا حَامِيَةًۙ‏

Taşlá Nārāan Ĥāmiyahan

They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire

تُسۡقٰي مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ اٰنِيَةٍؕ‏

Tusqá Min `Aynin 'Āniyahin

They will be given drink from a boiling spring

لَيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنۡ ضَرِيۡعٍۙ‏

Laysa Lahum Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Đarī`in

For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِيۡ مِنۡ جُوۡعٍؕ‏

Lā Yusminu Wa Lā Yughnī Min Jū`in

Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger

وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌۙ‏

Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Nā`imahun

[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۙ‏

Lisa`yihā Rāđiyahun

With their effort [they are] satisfied

فِيۡ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۙ‏

Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin

In an elevated garden

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيۡهَا لَاغِيَةًؕ‏

Lā Tasma`u Fīhā Lāghiyahan

Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech

فِيۡهَا عَيۡنٌ جَارِيَةٌۘ‏

Fīhā `Aynun Jāriyahun

Within it is a flowing spring

فِيۡهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرۡفُوۡعَةٌۙ‏

Fīhā Sururun Marfū`ahun

Within it are couches raised high

وَّاَكۡوَابٌ مَّوۡضُوۡعَةٌۙ‏

Wa 'Akwābun Mawđū`ahun

And cups put in place

وَّنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوۡفَةٌۙ‏

Wa Namāriqu Maşfūfahun

And cushions lined up

وَّزَرَابِيُّ مَبۡثُوۡثَةٌؕ‏

Wa Zarābīyu Mabthūthahun

And carpets spread around

اَفَلَا يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ اِلَي الۡاِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡࣟ‏

Afalā Yanžurūna 'Ilá Al-'Ibili Kayfa Khuliqat

Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created

وَاِلَي السَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡࣟ‏

Wa 'Ilá As-Samā'i Kayfa Rufi`at

And at the sky - how it is raised

وَاِلَي الۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡࣟ‏

Wa 'Ilá Al-Jibāli Kayfa Nuşibat

And at the mountains - how they are erected

وَاِلَي الۡاَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ‏

Wa 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Kayfa Suţiĥat

And at the earth - how it is spread out

فَذَكِّرۡࣞ اِنَّمَا٘ اَنۡتَ مُذَكِّرٌؕ‏

Fadhakkir 'Innamā 'Anta Mudhakkirun

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder

لَسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِمُصَۜيۡطِرٍۙ‏

Lasta `Alayhim Bimusayţirin

You are not over them a controller

اِلَّا مَنۡ تَوَلّٰي وَكَفَرَۙ‏

Illā Man Tawallá Wa Kafara

However, he who turns away and disbelieves

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللّٰهُ الۡعَذَابَ الۡاَكۡبَرَؕ‏

Fayu`adhibuhu Allāhu Al-`Adhāba Al-'Akbara

Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment

اِنَّ اِلَيۡنَا٘ اِيَابَهُمۡۙ‏

Inna 'Ilaynā 'Īābahum

Indeed, to Us is their return

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُمۡࣖ‏

Thumma 'Inna `Alaynā Ĥisābahum

Then indeed, upon Us is their account
