١

تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِيۡ نَزَّلَ الۡفُرۡقَانَ عَلٰي عَبۡدِهٖ لِيَكُوۡنَ لِلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ نَذِيۡرَاۙ‏

Tabāraka Al-Ladhī Nazzala Al-Furqāna `Alá `Abdihi Liyakūna Lil`ālamīna Nadhīrāan

Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner

٢

اِۨلَّذِيۡ لَهٗ مُلۡكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَلَمۡ يَتَّخِذۡ وَلَدًا وَّلَمۡ يَكُنۡ لَّهٗ شَرِيۡكٌ فِي الۡمُلۡكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ فَقَدَّرَهٗ تَقۡدِيۡرًا

Al-Ladhī Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Lam Yattakhidh Waladāan Wa Lam Yakun Lahu Sharīkun Fī Al-Mulki Wa Khalaqa Kulla Shay'in Faqaddarahu Taqdīrāan

He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination

٣

وَاتَّخَذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِهٖ٘ اٰلِهَةً لَّا يَخۡلُقُوۡنَ شَيۡـًٔا وَّهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُوۡنَ وَلَا يَمۡلِكُوۡنَ لِاَنۡفُسِهِمۡ ضَرًّا وَّلَا نَفۡعًا وَّلَا يَمۡلِكُوۡنَ مَوۡتًا وَّلَا حَيٰوةً وَّلَا نُشُوۡرًا

Wa Attakhadhū Min Dūnihi 'Ālihatan Lā Yakhluqūna Shay'āan Wa Hum Yukhlaqūna Wa Lā Yamlikūna Li'nfusihim Đarrāan Wa Lā Naf`āan Wa Lā Yamlikūna Mawtāan Wa Lā Ĥayāatan Wa Lā Nushūrāan

But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection

٤

وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡ٘ا اِنۡ هٰذَا٘ اِلَّا٘ اِفۡكُ اِۨفۡتَرٰىهُ وَاَعَانَهٗ عَلَيۡهِ قَوۡمٌ اٰخَرُوۡنَۚۛ فَقَدۡ جَآءُوۡ ظُلۡمًا وَّزُوۡرًاۚۛ‏

Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'In Hādhā 'Illā 'Ifkun Aftarāhu Wa 'A`ānahu `Alayhi Qawmun 'Ākharūna Faqad Jā'ū Žulmāan Wa Zūrāan

And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur'an] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie

٥

وَقَالُوۡ٘ا اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ اكۡتَتَبَهَا فَهِيَ تُمۡلٰي عَلَيۡهِ بُكۡرَةً وَّاَصِيۡلًا

Wa Qālū 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna Aktatabahā Fahiya Tumlá `Alayhi Bukratan Wa 'Aşīlāan

And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon

٦

قُلۡ اَنۡزَلَهُ الَّذِيۡ يَعۡلَمُ السِّرَّ فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفُوۡرًا رَّحِيۡمًا

Qul 'Anzalahu Al-Ladhī Ya`lamu As-Sirra Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Innahu Kāna Ghafūrāan Raĥīmāan

Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful

٧

وَقَالُوۡا مَالِ هٰذَا الرَّسُوۡلِ يَاۡكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمۡشِيۡ فِي الۡاَسۡوَاقِؕ لَوۡلَا٘ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُوۡنَ مَعَهٗ نَذِيۡرًاۙ‏

Wa Qālū Māli Hādhā Ar-Rasūli Ya'kulu Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Yamshī Fī Al-'Aswāqi Lawlā 'Unzila 'Ilayhi Malakun Fayakūna Ma`ahu Nadhīrāan

And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner

٨

اَوۡ يُلۡقٰ٘ي اِلَيۡهِ كَنۡزٌ اَوۡ تَكُوۡنُ لَهٗ جَنَّةٌ يَّاۡكُلُ مِنۡهَاؕ وَقَالَ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ اِنۡ تَتَّبِعُوۡنَ اِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسۡحُوۡرًا

Aw Yulqá 'Ilayhi Kanzun 'Aw Takūnu Lahu Jannatun Ya'kulu Minhā Wa Qāla Až-Žālimūna 'In Tattabi`ūna 'Illā Rajulāan Masĥūrāan

Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic

٩

اُنۡظُرۡ كَيۡفَ ضَرَبُوۡا لَكَ الۡاَمۡثَالَ فَضَلُّوۡا فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيۡعُوۡنَ سَبِيۡلًاࣖ‏

Anžur Kayfa Đarabū Laka Al-'Amthāla Fađallū Falā Yastaţī`ūna Sabīlāan

Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way

١٠

تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِيۡ٘ اِنۡ شَآءَ جَعَلَ لَكَ خَيۡرًا مِّنۡ ذٰلِكَ جَنّٰتٍ تَجۡرِيۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُۙ وَيَجۡعَلۡ لَّكَ قُصُوۡرًا

Tabāraka Al-Ladhī 'In Shā'a Ja`ala Laka Khayrāan Min Dhālika Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru Wa Yaj`al Laka Quşūrāan

Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces

١١

بَلۡ كَذَّبُوۡا بِالسَّاعَةِ وَاَعۡتَدۡنَا لِمَنۡ كَذَّبَ بِالسَّاعَةِ سَعِيۡرًاۚ‏

Bal Kadhabū Bis-Sā`ati Wa 'A`tadnā Liman Kadhaba Bis-Sā`ati Sa`īrāan

But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze

١٢

اِذَا رَاَتۡهُمۡ مِّنۡ مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيۡدٍ سَمِعُوۡا لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَّزَفِيۡرًا

Idhā Ra'at/hum Min Makānin Ba`īdin Sami`ū Lahā Taghayyužāan Wa Zafīrāan

When the Hellfire sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring

١٣

وَاِذَا٘ اُلۡقُوۡا مِنۡهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُّقَرَّنِيۡنَ دَعَوۡا هُنَالِكَ ثُبُوۡرًاؕ‏

Wa 'Idhā 'Ulqū Minhā Makānāan Đayyiqāan Muqarranīna Da`aw Hunālika Thubūrāan

And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction

١٤

لَا تَدۡعُوا الۡيَوۡمَ ثُبُوۡرًا وَّاحِدًا وَّادۡعُوۡا ثُبُوۡرًا كَثِيۡرًا

Lā Tad`ū Al-Yawma Thubūrāan Wāĥidāan Wa Ad`ū Thubūrāan Kathīrāan

[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction

١٥

قُلۡ اَذٰلِكَ خَيۡرٌ اَمۡ جَنَّةُ الۡخُلۡدِ الَّتِيۡ وُعِدَ الۡمُتَّقُوۡنَؕ كَانَتۡ لَهُمۡ جَزَآءً وَّمَصِيۡرًا

Qul 'Adhalika Khayrun 'Am Jannatu Al-Khuldi Allatī Wu`ida Al-Muttaqūna Kānat Lahum Jazā'an Wa Maşīrāan

Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination

١٦

لَهُمۡ فِيۡهَا مَا يَشَآءُوۡنَ خٰلِدِيۡنَؕ كَانَ عَلٰي رَبِّكَ وَعۡدًا مَّسۡـُٔوۡلًا

Lahum Fīhā Mā Yashā'ūna Khālidīna Kāna `Alá Rabbika Wa`dāan Mas'ūlāan

For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested

١٧

وَيَوۡمَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡ وَمَا يَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ فَيَقُوۡلُ ءَاَنۡتُمۡ اَضۡلَلۡتُمۡ عِبَادِيۡ هٰ٘ؤُلَآءِ اَمۡ هُمۡ ضَلُّوا السَّبِيۡلَؕ‏

Wa Yawma Yaĥshuruhum Wa Mā Ya`budūna Min Dūni Allāhi Fayaqūlu 'A'antum 'Ađlaltum `Ibādī Hā'uulā' 'Am Hum Đallū As-Sabīla

And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allah and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way

١٨

قَالُوۡا سُبۡحٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۭۡ بَغِيۡ لَنَا٘ اَنۡ نَّتَّخِذَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِكَ مِنۡ اَوۡلِيَآءَ وَلٰكِنۡ مَّتَّعۡتَهُمۡ وَاٰبَآءَهُمۡ حَتّٰي نَسُوا الذِّكۡرَۚ وَكَانُوۡا قَوۡمًاۭ بُوۡرًا

Qālū Subĥānaka Mā Kāna Yanbaghī Lanā 'An Nattakhidha Min Dūnika Min 'Awliyā'a Wa Lakin Matta`tahum Wa 'Ābā'ahum Ĥattá Nasū Adh-Dhikra Wa Kānū Qawmāan Būrāan

They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined

١٩

فَقَدۡ كَذَّبُوۡكُمۡ بِمَا تَقُوۡلُوۡنَۙ فَمَا تَسۡتَطِيۡعُوۡنَ صَرۡفًا وَّلَا نَصۡرًاۚ وَمَنۡ يَّظۡلِمۡ مِّنۡكُمۡ نُذِقۡهُ عَذَابًا كَبِيۡرًا

Faqad Kadhabūkum Bimā Taqūlūna Famā Tastaţī`ūna Şarfāan Wa Lā Naşrāan Wa Man Yažlim Minkum Nudhiqhu `Adhābāan Kabīrāan

So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say, and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great punishment

٢٠

وَمَا٘ اَرۡسَلۡنَا قَبۡلَكَ مِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَ اِلَّا٘ اِنَّهُمۡ لَيَاۡكُلُوۡنَ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمۡشُوۡنَ فِي الۡاَسۡوَاقِؕ وَجَعَلۡنَا بَعۡضَكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ فِتۡنَةًؕ اَتَصۡبِرُوۡنَۚ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيۡرًاࣖ‏

Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Qablaka Mina Al-Mursalīna 'Illā 'Innahum Laya'kulūna Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Yamshūna Fī Al-'Aswāqi Wa Ja`alnā Ba`đakum Liba`đin Fitnatan 'Ataşbirūna Wa Kāna Rabbuka Başīrāan

And We did not send before you, [O Muhammad], any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing

٢١

وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَرۡجُوۡنَ لِقَآءَنَا لَوۡلَا٘ اُنۡزِلَ عَلَيۡنَا الۡمَلٰٓئِكَةُ اَوۡ نَرٰي رَبَّنَاؕ لَقَدِ اسۡتَكۡبَرُوۡا فِيۡ٘ اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ وَعَتَوۡ عُتُوًّا كَبِيۡرًا

Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Lā Yarjūna Liqā'anā Lawlā 'Unzila `Alaynā Al-Malā'ikatu 'Aw Nará Rabbanā Laqadi Astakbarū Fī 'Anfusihim Wa `Ataw `Utūwāan Kabīrāan

And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence

٢٢

يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَ الۡمَلٰٓئِكَةَ لَا بُشۡرٰي يَوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ حِجۡرًا مَّحۡجُوۡرًا

Yawma Yarawna Al-Malā'ikata Lā Bushrá Yawma'idhin Lilmujrimīna Wa Yaqūlūna Ĥijrāan Maĥjūrāan

The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible

٢٣

وَقَدِمۡنَا٘ اِلٰي مَا عَمِلُوۡا مِنۡ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلۡنٰهُ هَبَآءً مَّنۡثُوۡرًا

Wa Qadimnā 'Ilá Mā `Amilū Min `Amalin Faja`alnāhu Habā'an Manthūrāan

And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed

٢٤

اَصۡحٰبُ الۡجَنَّةِ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَيۡرٌ مُّسۡتَقَرًّا وَّاَحۡسَنُ مَقِيۡلًا

Aşĥābu Al-Jannati Yawma'idhin Khayrun Mustaqarrāan Wa 'Aĥsanu Maqīlāan

The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place

٢٥

وَيَوۡمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَآءُ بِالۡغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الۡمَلٰٓئِكَةُ تَنۡزِيۡلًا

Wa Yawma Tashaqqaqu As-Samā'u Bil-Ghamāmi Wa Nuzzila Al-Malā'ikatu Tanzīlāan

And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent

٢٦

اَلۡمُلۡكُ يَوۡمَئِذِ اِۨلۡحَقُّ لِلرَّحۡمٰنِؕ وَكَانَ يَوۡمًا عَلَي الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ عَسِيۡرًا

Al-Mulku Yawma'idhin Al-Ĥaqqu Lilrraĥmani Wa Kāna Yawmāan `Alá Al-Kāfirīna `Asīrāan

True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day

٢٧

وَيَوۡمَ يَعَضُّ الظَّالِمُ عَلٰي يَدَيۡهِ يَقُوۡلُ يٰلَيۡتَنِي اتَّخَذۡتُ مَعَ الرَّسُوۡلِ سَبِيۡلًا

Wa Yawma Ya`ađđu Až-Žālimu `Alá Yadayhi Yaqūlu Yā Laytanī Attakhadhtu Ma`a Ar-Rasūli Sabīlāan

And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way

٢٨

يٰوَيۡلَتٰي لَيۡتَنِيۡ لَمۡ اَتَّخِذۡ فُلَانًا خَلِيۡلًا

Yā Waylatī Laytanī Lam 'Attakhidh Fulānāan Khalīlāan

Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend

٢٩

لَقَدۡ اَضَلَّنِيۡ عَنِ الذِّكۡرِ بَعۡدَ اِذۡ جَآءَنِيۡؕ وَكَانَ الشَّيۡطٰنُ لِلۡاِنۡسَانِ خَذُوۡلًا

Laqad 'Ađallanī `Ani Adh-Dhikri Ba`da 'Idh Jā'anī Wa Kāna Ash-Shayţānu Lil'insāni Khadhūlāan

He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter

٣٠

وَقَالَ الرَّسُوۡلُ يٰرَبِّ اِنَّ قَوۡمِي اتَّخَذُوۡا هٰذَا الۡقُرۡاٰنَ مَهۡجُوۡرًا

Wa Qāla Ar-Rasūlu Yā Rabbi 'Inna Qawmī Attakhadhū Hādhā Al-Qur'āna Mahjūrāan

And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned

٣١

وَكَذٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا مِّنَ الۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَؕ وَكَفٰي بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَّنَصِيۡرًا

Wa Kadhalika Ja`alnā Likulli Nabīyin `Adūwāan Mina Al-Mujrimīna Wa Kafá Birabbika Hādīāan Wa Naşīrāan

And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper

٣٢

وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِ الۡقُرۡاٰنُ جُمۡلَةً وَّاحِدَةًۚۛ كَذٰلِكَۚۛ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهٖ فُؤَادَكَ وَرَتَّلۡنٰهُ تَرۡتِيۡلًا

Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lawlā Nuzzila `Alayhi Al-Qur'ānu Jumlatan Wāĥidatan Kadhālika Linuthabbita Bihi Fu'uādaka Wa Rattalnāhu Tartīlāan

And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly

٣٣

وَلَا يَاۡتُوۡنَكَ بِمَثَلٍ اِلَّا جِئۡنٰكَ بِالۡحَقِّ وَاَحۡسَنَ تَفۡسِيۡرًاؕ‏

Wa Lā Ya'tūnaka Bimathalin 'Illā Ji'nāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Aĥsana Tafsīrāan

And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation

٣٤

اَلَّذِيۡنَ يُحۡشَرُوۡنَ عَلٰي وُجُوۡهِهِمۡ اِلٰي جَهَنَّمَۙ اُولٰٓئِكَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَّاَضَلُّ سَبِيۡلًاࣖ‏

Al-Ladhīna Yuĥsharūna `Alá Wujūhihim 'Ilá Jahannama 'Ūlā'ika Sharrun Makānāan Wa 'Ađallu Sabīlāan

The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way

٣٥

وَلَقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسَي الۡكِتٰبَ وَجَعَلۡنَا مَعَهٗ٘ اَخَاهُ هٰرُوۡنَ وَزِيۡرًاۚۖ‏

Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Kitāba Wa Ja`alnā Ma`ahu 'Akhāhu Hārūna Wazīrāan

And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant

٣٦

فَقُلۡنَا اذۡهَبَا٘ اِلَي الۡقَوۡمِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَاؕ فَدَمَّرۡنٰهُمۡ تَدۡمِيۡرًاؕ‏

Faqulnā Adh/habā 'Ilá Al-Qawmi Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Fadammarnāhum Tadmīrāan

And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction

٣٧

وَقَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا الرُّسُلَ اَغۡرَقۡنٰهُمۡ وَجَعَلۡنٰهُمۡ لِلنَّاسِ اٰيَةًؕ وَاَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلظّٰلِمِيۡنَ عَذَابًا اَلِيۡمًاۚۙ‏

Wa Qawma Nūĥin Lammā Kadhabū Ar-Rusula 'Aghraqnāhum Wa Ja`alnāhum Lilnnāsi 'Āyatan Wa 'A`tadnā Lilžžālimīna `Adhābāan 'Alīmāan

And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment

٣٨

وَّعَادًا وَّثَمُوۡدَا۠ وَاَصۡحٰبَ الرَّسِّ وَقُرُوۡنًاۭ بَيۡنَ ذٰلِكَ كَثِيۡرًا

Wa `Ādāan Wa Thamūda Wa 'Aşĥāba Ar-Rassi Wa Qurūnāan Bayna Dhālika Kathīrāan

And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them

٣٩

وَكُلًّا ضَرَبۡنَا لَهُ الۡاَمۡثَالَؗ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرۡنَا تَتۡبِيۡرًا

Wa Kullāan Đarabnā Lahu Al-'Amthāla Wa Kullāan Tabbarnā Tatbīrāan

And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction

٤٠

وَلَقَدۡ اَتَوۡا عَلَي الۡقَرۡيَةِ الَّتِيۡ٘ اُمۡطِرَتۡ مَطَرَ السَّوۡءِؕ اَفَلَمۡ يَكُوۡنُوۡا يَرَوۡنَهَاۚ بَلۡ كَانُوۡا لَا يَرۡجُوۡنَ نُشُوۡرًا

Wa Laqad 'Ataw `Alá Al-Qaryati Allatī 'Umţirat Maţara As-Saw'i 'Afalam Yakūnū Yarawnahā Bal Kānū Lā Yarjūna Nushūrāan

And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection

٤١

وَاِذَا رَاَوۡكَ اِنۡ يَّتَّخِذُوۡنَكَ اِلَّا هُزُوًاؕ اَهٰذَا الَّذِيۡ بَعَثَ اللّٰهُ رَسُوۡلًا

Wa 'Idhā R'awka 'In Yattakhidhūnaka 'Illā Huzūan 'Ahadhā Al-Ladhī Ba`atha Allāhu Rasūlāan

And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger

٤٢

اِنۡ كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنۡ اٰلِهَتِنَا لَوۡلَا٘ اَنۡ صَبَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهَاؕ وَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ حِيۡنَ يَرَوۡنَ الۡعَذَابَ مَنۡ اَضَلُّ سَبِيۡلًا

In Kāda Layuđillunā `An 'Ālihatinā Lawlā 'An Şabarnā `Alayhā Wa Sawfa Ya`lamūna Ĥīna Yarawna Al-`Adhāba Man 'Ađallu Sabīlāan

He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way

٤٣

اَرَءَيۡتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰهَهٗ هَوٰىهُؕ اَفَاَنۡتَ تَكُوۡنُ عَلَيۡهِ وَكِيۡلًاۙ‏

Ara'ayta Mani Attakhadha 'Ilahahu Hawāhu 'Afa'anta Takūnu `Alayhi Wa Kīlāan

Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him

٤٤

اَمۡ تَحۡسَبُ اَنَّ اَكۡثَرَهُمۡ يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ اَوۡ يَعۡقِلُوۡنَؕ اِنۡ هُمۡ اِلَّا كَالۡاَنۡعَامِ بَلۡ هُمۡ اَضَلُّ سَبِيۡلًاࣖ‏

Am Taĥsabu 'Anna 'Aktharahum Yasma`ūna 'Aw Ya`qilūna 'In Hum 'Illā Kāl'an`ām Bal Hum 'Ađallu Sabīlāan

Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way

٤٥

اَلَمۡ تَرَ اِلٰي رَبِّكَ كَيۡفَ مَدَّ الظِّلَّۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهٗ سَاكِنًاۚ ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَا الشَّمۡسَ عَلَيۡهِ دَلِيۡلًاۙ‏

Alam Tará 'Ilá Rabbika Kayfa Madda Až-Žilla Wa Law Shā'a Laja`alahu Sākināan Thumma Ja`alnā Ash-Shamsa `Alayhi Dalīlāan

Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication

٤٦

ثُمَّ قَبَضۡنٰهُ اِلَيۡنَا قَبۡضًا يَّسِيۡرًا

Thumma Qabađnāhu 'Ilaynā Qabđāan Yasīrāan

Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp

٤٧

وَهُوَ الَّذِيۡ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيۡلَ لِبَاسًا وَّالنَّوۡمَ سُبَاتًا وَّجَعَلَ النَّهَارَ نُشُوۡرًا

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-Layla Libāsāan Wa An-Nawma Subātāan Wa Ja`ala An-Nahāra Nushūrāan

And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection

٤٨

وَهُوَ الَّذِيۡ٘ اَرۡسَلَ الرِّيٰحَ بُشۡرًاۭ بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡ رَحۡمَتِهٖۚ وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً طَهُوۡرًاۙ‏

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī 'Arsala Ar-Riyāĥa Bushrāan Bayna Yaday Raĥmatihi Wa 'Anzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Ţahūrāan

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water

٤٩

لِّنُحۡيِۦَ بِهٖ بَلۡدَةً مَّيۡتًا وَّنُسۡقِيَهٗ مِمَّا خَلَقۡنَا٘ اَنۡعَامًا وَّاَنَاسِيَّ كَثِيۡرًا

Linuĥyiya Bihi Baldatan Maytāan Wa Nusqiyahu Mimmā Khalaqnā 'An`āmāan Wa 'Anāsīya Kathīrāan

That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men

٥٠

وَلَقَدۡ صَرَّفۡنٰهُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ لِيَذَّكَّرُوۡاؗۖ فَاَبٰ٘ي اَكۡثَرُ النَّاسِ اِلَّا كُفُوۡرًا

Wa Laqad Şarrafnāhu Baynahum Liyadhakkarū Fa'abá 'Aktharu An-Nāsi 'Illā Kufūrāan

And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief

٥١

وَلَوۡ شِئۡنَا لَبَعَثۡنَا فِيۡ كُلِّ قَرۡيَةٍ نَّذِيۡرًاؗۖ‏

Wa Law Shi'nā Laba`athnā Fī Kulli Qaryatin Nadhīrāan

And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner

٥٢

فَلَا تُطِعِ الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ وَجَاهِدۡهُمۡ بِهٖ جِهَادًا كَبِيۡرًا

Falā Tuţi`i Al-Kāfirīna Wa Jāhid/hum Bihi Jihādāan Kabīrāan

So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Qur'an a great striving

٥٣

وَهُوَ الَّذِيۡ مَرَجَ الۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ هٰذَا عَذۡبٌ فُرَاتٌ وَّهٰذَا مِلۡحٌ اُجَاجٌۚ وَجَعَلَ بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخًا وَّحِجۡرًا مَّحۡجُوۡرًا

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Maraja Al-Baĥrayni Hādhā `Adhbun Furātun Wa Hadhā Milĥun 'Ujājun Wa Ja`ala Baynahumā Barzakhāan Wa Ĥijrāan Maĥjūrāan

And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition

٥٤

وَهُوَ الَّذِيۡ خَلَقَ مِنَ الۡمَآءِ بَشَرًا فَجَعَلَهٗ نَسَبًا وَّصِهۡرًاؕ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيۡرًا

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Mina Al-Mā'i Basharāan Faja`alahu Nasabāan Wa Şihrāan Wa Kāna Rabbuka Qadīrāan

And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation]

٥٥

وَيَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ مَا لَا يَنۡفَعُهُمۡ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمۡؕ وَكَانَ الۡكَافِرُ عَلٰي رَبِّهٖ ظَهِيۡرًا

Wa Ya`budūna Min Dūni Allāhi Mā Lā Yanfa`uhum Wa Lā Yađurruhum Wa Kāna Al-Kāfiru `Alá Rabbihi Žahīrāan

But they worship rather than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan]

٥٦

وَمَا٘ اَرۡسَلۡنٰكَ اِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَّنَذِيۡرًا

Wa Mā 'Arsalnāka 'Illā Mubashirāan Wa Nadhīrāan

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner

٥٧

قُلۡ مَا٘ اَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ اَجۡرٍ اِلَّا مَنۡ شَآءَ اَنۡ يَّتَّخِذَ اِلٰي رَبِّهٖ سَبِيۡلًا

Qul Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin 'Illā Man Shā'a 'An Yattakhidha 'Ilá Rabbihi Sabīlāan

Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way

٥٨

وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَي الۡحَيِّ الَّذِيۡ لَا يَمُوۡتُ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِهٖؕ وَكَفٰي بِهٖ بِذُنُوۡبِ عِبَادِهٖ خَبِيۡرَاۚۛۙ‏

Wa Tawakkal `Alá Al-Ĥayyi Al-Ladhī Lā Yamūtu Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥamdihi Wa Kafá Bihi Bidhunūbi `Ibādihi Khabīrāan

And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allah] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted

٥٩

اِۨلَّذِيۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا فِيۡ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسۡتَوٰي عَلَي الۡعَرۡشِۚۛ اَلرَّحۡمٰنُ فَسۡـَٔلۡ بِهٖ خَبِيۡرًا

Al-Ladhī Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Fī Sittati 'Ayyāmin Thumma Astawá `Alá Al-`Arshi Ar-Raĥmānu Fās'al Bihi Khabīrāan

He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed

٦٠

وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمُ اسۡجُدُوۡا لِلرَّحۡمٰنِۚ قَالُوۡا وَمَا الرَّحۡمٰنُࣗ اَنَسۡجُدُ لِمَا تَاۡمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمۡ نُفُوۡرًاࣛࣖ‏

Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum Asjudū Lilrraĥmani Qālū Wa Mā Ar-Raĥmānu 'Anasjudu Limā Ta'murunā Wa Zādahum Nufūrāan

And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion

٦١

تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِيۡ جَعَلَ فِي السَّمَآءِ بُرُوۡجًا وَّجَعَلَ فِيۡهَا سِرٰجًا وَّقَمَرًا مُّنِيۡرًا

Tabāraka Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Fī As-Samā'i Burūjāan Wa Ja`ala Fīhā Sirājāan Wa Qamarāan Munīrāan

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon

٦٢

وَهُوَ الَّذِيۡ جَعَلَ الَّيۡلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلۡفَةً لِّمَنۡ اَرَادَ اَنۡ يَّذَّكَّرَ اَوۡ اَرَادَ شُكُوۡرًا

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Al-Layla Wa An-Nahāra Khilfatan Liman 'Arāda 'An Yadhakkara 'Aw 'Arāda Shukūrāan

And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude

٦٣

وَعِبَادُ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الَّذِيۡنَ يَمۡشُوۡنَ عَلَي الۡاَرۡضِ هَوۡنًا وَّاِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الۡجٰهِلُوۡنَ قَالُوۡا سَلٰمًا

Wa `Ibādu Ar-Raĥmāni Al-Ladhīna Yamshūna `Alá Al-'Arđi Hawnāan Wa 'Idhā Khāţabahumu Al-Jāhilūna Qālū Salāmāan

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace

٦٤

وَالَّذِيۡنَ يَبِيۡتُوۡنَ لِرَبِّهِمۡ سُجَّدًا وَّقِيَامًا

Wa Al-Ladhīna Yabītūna Lirabbihim Sujjadāan Wa Qiyāmāan

And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

٦٥

وَالَّذِيۡنَ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ رَبَّنَا اصۡرِفۡ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَࣗۖ اِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًاࣗۖ‏

Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaqūlūna Rabbanā Aşrif `Annā `Adhāba Jahannama 'Inna `Adhābahā Kāna Gharāmāan

And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering

٦٦

اِنَّهَا سَآءَتۡ مُسۡتَقَرًّا وَّمُقَامًا

Innahā Sā'at Mustaqarrāan Wa Muqāmāan

Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence

٦٧

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اِذَا٘ اَنۡفَقُوۡا لَمۡ يُسۡرِفُوۡا وَلَمۡ يَقۡتُرُوۡا وَكَانَ بَيۡنَ ذٰلِكَ قَوَامًا

Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā 'Anfaqū Lam Yusrifū Wa Lam Yaqturū Wa Kāna Bayna Dhālika Qawāmāan

And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

٦٨

وَالَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَدۡعُوۡنَ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَ وَلَا يَقۡتُلُوۡنَ النَّفۡسَ الَّتِيۡ حَرَّمَ اللّٰهُ اِلَّا بِالۡحَقِّ وَلَا يَزۡنُوۡنَؕۚ وَمَنۡ يَّفۡعَلۡ ذٰلِكَ يَلۡقَ اَثَامًاۙ‏

Wa Al-Ladhīna Lā Yad`ūna Ma`a Allāhi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara Wa Lā Yaqtulūna An-Nafsa Allatī Ĥarrama Allāhu 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lā Yaznūna Wa Man Yaf`al Dhālika Yalqa 'Athāmāan

And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty

٦٩

يُّضٰعَفۡ لَهُ الۡعَذَابُ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ وَيَخۡلُدۡ فِيۡهٖ مُهَانًاࣗۖ‏

Yuđā`af Lahu Al-`Adhābu Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Wa Yakhlud Fīhi Muhānāan

Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated

٧٠

اِلَّا مَنۡ تَابَ وَاٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا فَاُولٰٓئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ اللّٰهُ سَيِّاٰتِهِمۡ حَسَنٰتٍؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوۡرًا رَّحِيۡمًا

Illā Man Tāba Wa 'Āmana Wa `Amila `Amalāan Şāliĥāan Fa'ūlā'ika Yubaddilu Allāhu Sayyi'ātihim Ĥasanātin Wa Kāna Allāhu Ghafūrāan Raĥīmāan

Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful

٧١

وَمَنۡ تَابَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَاِنَّهٗ يَتُوۡبُ اِلَي اللّٰهِ مَتَابًا

Wa Man Tāba Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Fa'innahu Yatūbu 'Ilá Allāhi Matābāan

And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance

٧٢

وَالَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَشۡهَدُوۡنَ الزُّوۡرَۙ وَاِذَا مَرُّوۡا بِاللَّغۡوِ مَرُّوۡا كِرَامًا

Wa Al-Ladhīna Lā Yash/hadūna Az-Zūra Wa 'Idhā Marrū Bil-Laghwi Marrū Kirāmāan

And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity

٧٣

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اِذَا ذُكِّرُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ لَمۡ يَخِرُّوۡا عَلَيۡهَا صُمًّا وَّعُمۡيَانًا

Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā Dhukkirū Bi'āyāti Rabbihim Lam Yakhirrū `Alayhā Şummāan Wa `Umyānāan

And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind

٧٤

وَالَّذِيۡنَ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ اَزۡوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ اَعۡيُنٍ وَّاجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ اِمَامًا

Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaqūlūna Rabbanā Hab Lanā Min 'Azwājinā Wa Dhurrīyātinā Qurrata 'A`yunin Wa Aj`alnā Lilmuttaqīna 'Imāmāan

And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous

٧٥

اُولٰٓئِكَ يُجۡزَوۡنَ الۡغُرۡفَةَ بِمَا صَبَرُوۡا وَيُلَقَّوۡنَ فِيۡهَا تَحِيَّةً وَّسَلٰمًاۙ‏

Ūlā'ika Yujzawna Al-Ghurfata Bimā Şabarū Wa Yulaqqawna Fīhā Taĥīyatan Wa Salāmāan

Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace

٧٦

خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاؕ حَسُنَتۡ مُسۡتَقَرًّا وَّمُقَامًا

Khālidīna Fīhā Ĥasunat Mustaqarrāan Wa Muqāmāan

Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence

٧٧

قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُا بِكُمۡ رَبِّيۡ لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡۚ فَقَدۡ كَذَّبۡتُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يَكُوۡنُ لِزَامًاࣖ‏

Qul Mā Ya`ba'u Bikum Rabbī Lawlā Du`ā'uukum Faqad Kadhabtum Fasawfa Yakūnu Lizāmāan

Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent

صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-ʿaẓīm

Allah, the Magnificent, has spoken the truth.
